The Canton Ohio Repository reports that the 24-foot-long Galileo shuttlecraft prop has just sold at auction for just over $70,000 after a last-minute bidding war. The vehicle was the shuttlecraft of U.S.S. Enterprise in the original “Star Trek” TV series of the late 1960s, and had been acquired by an Akron Ohio collector. The buyer plans to restore the shuttlecraft and possibly display it in a museum.
